“Tell me, what is it you want to do with your one wild and precious life?”

When a woman feels a longing to transform some aspect of her life, it’s an invitation to open up to living more authentically, to being more fully who she is and sharing this with the world.

That sounds good – so why is it so damn hard to RSVP yes to that invite?

Women have a million reasons why they say no to stepping into growth (or to stepping into it now):

  • Feeling stuck or confused and/or afraid
  • Questioning whether this is the right time, right for their family or partner, or right for their retirement account
  • Resisting something inevitable, like a job or relationship ending or kids going to school or leaving home
  • Feeling uncertain, not knowing exactly what they want to create in their lives
  • Believing that they’re good not enough, can’t make it happen, or don’t deserve it.  Maybe believing all three.

All of these reasons could be 100% valid – AND they don’t need to stop someone from saying yes to living differently.

Most people who make these kinds of shifts feel scared, even terrified.  That fear speaks to how important these shifts are, how much they matter deep inside.

We believe that transformational change requires courage, intention, support, and connection.  The word courage comes from the Latin cor, meaning heart; living in connection to our heart.  As Carlos Castaneda advises, we must always ask whether a path has heart, and if it does, it’s a path for us to walk.  Intention helps us set direction and source from our deeper Why so that we stay on the path, even when the going gets rough.

Support starts with ourselves.  We cannot truly transform if we’re beating ourselves up and believing the naysayers and our own inner critics.  As we make this critical internal shift to be on our own side, we also open up to a wider sense of possibility and to more creative energy.  We generate new ideas and opportunities we couldn’t see before – or that appear because we’re ready.  We realize that loved ones, strangers, and our environment can also be powerful allies in our transformation.  As we truly show up for ourselves, we also realize that we can show up for each other and that a community of women supporting each other potentiates everyone’s growth.  We don’t have to figure this all out on our own.  We do it together.

As the poet Mary Oliver said, “Tell me, what is it you want to do with your one wild and precious life?”

At the Yellow Arrow Collective, we are here to help you discern your own answer to that powerful question and to realize that vision, with the support of a community of like-minded women.
